It may be interesting to note that Jake Riggs and Chris Baron met at an open
mic at Produce Row Cafe, a tiny jazz-themed pub in SE Portland, in the
summer of 2006.  Their personal styles were very different, and they were
both doing their own thing for their own reasons that night.  Jev Jeffries,
who eventually became the bass player, was the man who brought them
together.

Huge Sally started as an acoustic trio (including Jev) that kept firing
drummers.  In late 2006, they briefly morphed into a full blues-rock band
with the making of Cold-Hearted Bastard, borrowing Chris' old drummer Joel
Tomfohr.

The songs in one form or another have been performed consistently around
Portland since early 2007.  Of note was the acoustic duo winning a $1000
performance competition in SE Portland in August 2007, a small tour of
Oregon in January 2008 (one song performed at the Mobius Theater in Ashland,
OR made it to YouTube
) and appearances at SXSW in Austin, TX in both 2008
and 2009.

By 2009, the band is officially a raw duo.  A masterpiece album is in
development.  Every live set is being recorded and reviewed, archives and
arrangements are being called out, and game is being played.

The songs themselves are shrouded in mystery.  The stories are true and the
people are real, but the motives are rarely understood.  Huge Sally plays
the Folk in Blues with grace and countenance, and if you love the man, you
will love the music.
